In early 2024, I started doing pages on a story that had been brewing in my head while I was waiting for a script in the middle of an ongoing series I was on. As the delay got longer and longer I worked on more and more pages until I had the start of what would eventually become the first issue of GOCHUGARU.
When it became more and more real and I decided to crowdfund the rest of the book, I eventually set a date for the Kickstarter campaign and then started to promote it on social media. I also set up an appearance at Fan Expo Dallas to promote the campaign, and created these ashcan flyers to distribute for the show. There were less than 50 made, I just printed them at Office Max and folded each and every one of them by hand myself.
Basically this is the first published appearance of the characters of GOCHUGARU.
The point was to hand out every as many of these as possible in order to get the word out, but I got a handful of them graded for fun at the convention and a few of them came back at 9.8.
So I've put them up on here if there's a collector who might be interested in acquiring this novelty item.”
