This is the original line art for a cover to X-23: Deadly Regenesis that was ultimately unused. There were about a dozen of these done before one was selected for the final cover. This is one of the unused ones.
My approach with this one was to be reminiscent of the cover of the first Target X issue. I don’t think the pose was similar enough to do that so this was one I rejected myself, but I think it stands alone pretty well.
